Phillip Black is an attorney/partner at Dossey & Jones, PLLC. Phillip helps clients work through a variety of legal matters, including intellectual property, estate planning, and business law.
In his estate planning practice, Phillip provides thoughtful, tailored guidance to individuals and families navigating the complexities of preparing for the future. Phillip understands every family is unique—whether clients are just starting to build wealth or are managing significant assets across generations. He provides personalized counsel to each client, and his deep understanding of tax implications and asset protection ensures each estate plan reflects the client’s goals, family dynamics, and financial realities. Phillip also has experience in general business matters including: strategic entity formation, licensing structures, confidentiality and non-disclosures, employment and independent contractor relationships, and stock and asset purchase agreements.
Phillip earned a B.S. in chemistry from Creighton University and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law. He is also a member of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, The State Bar of Texas - Business Section.
Outside of work, Phillip enjoys spending time outdoors with his wife and two children and can often be found at the soccer fields or on the dirt bike trails. He ventures to the Rocky Mountains whenever possible and makes a yearly trip to Glacier National Park to spend a few days hiking through the backcountry.
