Bio
Phillip Black is a senior associate attorney at Dossey & Jones, PLLC. Phillip helps clients work through a variety of legal matters, including intellectual property, estate planning, and business law.
In his estate planning practice, Phillip works with clients in varying family situations and socioeconomic positions to design and implement a comprehensive estate plan.
Phillip also serves businesses driven by innovation. His practice includes business transactions and business development centered around intellectual property. As a registered patent attorney with the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office, he has several years of experience in patent and trademark prosecution. He actively manages several domestic and international IP portfolios, and he works closely with clients to prioritize product development to advance business interests.
Phillip also has experience in general business matters including: strategic entity formation, licensing structures, confidentiality and non-disclosures, employment and independent contractor relationships, and stock and asset purchase agreements.
Phillip earned a B.S. in chemistry from Creighton University and a J.D. from South Texas College of Law.
Phillip is a member of the Houston Intellectual Property Law Association, The State Bar of Texas - Business Section,. Outside of the office, Phillip enjoys many outdoor activities with his wife and two children.
